Do I have to close my Deposit Account?
Yes. Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Ltd ceased to exist as a licensed bank on the 31st December 2010. From the 1st December 2010 your account has been deactivated and no longer earns interest and transactions (other than withdrawals) have not been processed on your account.
Are there any cases where I will not be allowed to withdraw funds or close my Deposit Account?
Yes, if your account is pledged to Bank of Scotland plc or we are legally prevented from closing your account, restrictions may apply. A letter was issued to notify you of this.
How do I claim my closing balance?
To claim your closing balance please complete the Deposits Closure Form which can be downloaded here and send it to:
